Research and planning: Final magazine

Evaluation 7:

As you can see from my 2 contents pages above, the second one is much better than the first, this is because the first contents page was for my college magazine which was one of the first activities we had done in class, I didnt really understand how to use indesign or photshop properly so I just used the familuar tools such as text boxes, and how to change the colour of the font. The faded picture in the background was an accident as I had played around with something and it just happened! I didnt understand how to edit my pictures so that they looked a better quality, also I didnt know how to remove the box from around my text. Looking at the 2 contents pages you can automatically tell that I have put much more effort into my 2nd one for my music magazine as I did for my college magazine, aswell as effort being a main part in the quality of my music magazines contents page, a better understanding of the programmes I used (photoshop) also helped me acheive this. I was able to edit my pictures so that they looked a better quality, I was able to add a shape behind my contents list that is off centre as RnB has its own swagger so I thought that using things in my own way would acheive the RnB genre. My 2nd contents page meets its audience in a very different way than the college magazine, as it includes things that the audience wants to see, for example, information and stories about the main artists for this genre. My college magazine, fails to do this as nothing on the contents page stands out enough to make people want to read it.

These 2 pages from the same magazines have the same points as the contents pages, the RnB magazines double page spread is obviously a better quality than the college magazine again, as i knew tools to use to make it look good. I had to play around with the tools to understand how they worked, this took a bit of time. The double page spread is unusual as the pictures are usually on the left and the stories are usually on the right, but again, as it is RnB and each artist has a focus on looking good, and standing out from the crowed, I thought it would be a good idea to use my own ideas for the doubl page spread, it looks different and the female in the picture is very glamorous so this will also cach the readers attention.

Evaluation question 6- what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product

SLR Camera
I started off using the digital cameras and couldn't get the quality of picture I needed so I then used the SLR cameras and these gave me much better quality picture.

Imac

I used the Imac for editing, this was my base. We each had one and this is where all of my work is loaded to and from. (pictures)

Software used includes:

• Photoshop- I produced each one of my pages in this software.
• Indesign- I edited a few pictures using this software.
• Flickr - I uploaded my 3 pages to this and wrote where I would distribute my magazine.
• Blogger - This is where all my work is stored, every bit of work that I have done is uploaded to this software.
• Youtube
• PowerPoint- I used this for my first question of my evaluation.

Question 4 evaluation: Who would be the audience for your media product. why?

This is my target audience. They are my target audience as they listen to the right music, so they will be familiar with the stars I have used in my magazine, they will also be able to relate to the real life stories in the magazine and also the fashion pages will be good for them as they will dress in the clothes that are in the magazine.
